Welkio offers a comprehensive visitor sign-in system that captures names, emails, visitor photos, and signatures via a tablet interface and a web dashboard. The company was co-founded by Florent Ferere and DJ Tarazona after a Hathway hackathon and spun out into a separate corporation. Mobile innovation agency Hathway Inc. backed the startup following the spinout. Welkio publicly launched after a private launch in January. Since the private launch, a number of companies have adopted the platform, including Jamba Juice, MINDBODY, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, JustFab, GSVlabs, and Shopatron. The company announced $400K in pre-seed funding concurrent with its public launch.
