Welldone is a Russian alt-meat brand producing affordable plant-based burgers and other meat alternatives. The company has expanded to over 500 points of sale across 50 cities and its pack of two burgers retails at about $3, helping it surpass Beyond Meat in local sales. Welldone recently closed a $1.5 million funding round to expand production capacity to 150 tons per month. The financing will also fund R&D and new product launches as the company seeks to broaden distribution in Moscow and internationally. Its products are already available in Belarus and Kazakhstan. CEO Alexander Kiselev pointed to growing consumer interest in plant-based diets and Russia's rapidly expanding alt-protein market as tailwinds for the business.
