Wellola develops patient management solutions centered on Portasana, an interoperable patient care and communication platform (Care Journeys Platform). Portasana integrates with core NHS systems and electronic patient records, enabling staff to curate an unlimited number of evidence-based digital care pathways across services. The platform supports preventative, community-based care models, helps patients 'wait well', reduces follow-up appointments and supports self-management. Major healthcare organisations including Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, the North East London Foundation Trust and Birmingham Community NHS Trust have deployed Portasana. The company plans to use new funding to accelerate market expansion across Europe and to recruit technical and operational staff across Ireland and the United Kingdom. Wellola raised €2.2M in the latest round, bringing total funding to €4M; it was founded in 2016 and is led by founder Sonia Neary alongside Lyndsey Watson (COO), Dr Imran Khan (CSO) and Jay Ross (CTO).
