WelVU offers an integrated enterprise healthcare patient engagement platform that creates a multimedia educational experience patients can reference and share after leaving the exam room or hospital. Physicians, nurses, and educators create point-of-care educational videos and prescribe those videos directly to patients for review on smartphones, tablets, or desktops. The platform is intended to extend the productivity of face-to-face care encounters and to allow organizations to begin measuring data around patients’ engagement with educational content. WelVU has just launched this integrated platform and is led by founder and CEO Mark Friess. The company raised $1.25M in seed funding and plans to use the proceeds to develop product features, accelerate marketing and sales, and support client deployments. Backers were not disclosed.
