WeMail
Seattle, WA, United States
Overview
WeMail is a mobile e-mail app that groups conversations by sender and presents messages in a messaging-like interface. The app supports voice replies of up to 20 seconds and groups attachments and conversations to create shared, social folders. WeMail claims side-by-side tests show 80% fewer screen scrolls, 33% fewer taps to reach a specific message, and inbox sizes reduced by more than two-thirds. It also includes streamlined search with snippets, typing indicators when recipients are composing replies, and an internal messaging infrastructure intended to speed delivery between WeMail users. The company is led by brothers Philip and Gerald Yuen, YC alums who previously built TextPayMe (acquired by Amazon) and worked at Zynga. Financially, the company has raised $1 million from notable technology founders and alumni.
