Founded in 2019 by Himanshu Gupta and Vishal Chopra and based in Bengaluru, WeRize operates a social commerce-led financial services platform targeting consumers in roughly 5,000 smaller cities and towns. It leverages a network of more than 19,000 trained financial micro-entrepreneurs to offer loans, insurance and investment products in six Indian languages without physical branches. Its AI stack has been trained on over 20 billion data points from more than four million households to support customer acquisition, underwriting, risk assessment and product recommendations. The company has recorded three consecutive years of profitability and reports an annualised gross revenue run rate of $65 million and a net revenue run rate of $32 million, with annualised EBITDA around $15 million and pre-tax profit exceeding $7 million. WeRize plans to expand into additional financial products including mutual funds, online bonds, secured co-branded credit cards and housing loans as it scales.
