WheelRight develops and sells an advanced remote tyre monitoring system that measures tyre pressure when a vehicle is driven over a sensor plate. The sensor works regardless of vehicle or tyre type and delivers immediate tyre pressure information via SMS, visual display, or directly into a fleet management system. In addition to pressure readings, the sensor can weigh a vehicle in motion and analyze load distribution. The technology is used across the commercial vehicle, bus and wider automotive sectors, with UK clients including Thamesdown and Stagecoach. The company intends to use the funds raised to commercialize its product. WheelRight was founded in 2004 and is based at the Begbrooke Science Park in Oxford; it employs 10 highly qualified engineers.
