The service uses proprietary social mapping software to capture users’ past travel history and future plans. The app is best known for its Facebook integration and currently has over 1 million active users. The company plans to use the new funding toward user acquisition efforts. Where I’ve Been is Chicago-based and has previously attracted angel investment. Earlier reporting of an acquisition by TripAdvisor proved false.
