Whisper Yachts designs and builds 100% solar-electric catamarans aimed at luxury, low-noise cruising. The company delivered its first unit from its shipyard in Fano, Italy, and currently offers a 54-foot model with three- or four-cabin configurations for eight to ten people. Its boats claim about 30 hours of autonomy on batteries and a 90% noise reduction versus thermal-powered boats, and can feed electricity back into a marina at berth. Production capacity is currently limited to about five units per year, and the company is developing two additional models, the Whisper 42 and Whisper 66. Whisper aims to reach 90% recyclable or recycled components by 2030, uses alternatives such as cork instead of teak, and has a partnership to desalinate and remineralize seawater on board. The brand is targeting younger, eco-conscious customers in the Mediterranean and the Americas and relies heavily on boat shows for sales.
