WideSense offers a platform that delivers real-time Mobility Contextual Intelligence to drivers, owners, location-commerce partners and vehicle computers. The platform automatically learns behavior models of drivers, vehicles, vehicle subsystems and mobility patterns from real-world vehicle journey telemetry, route topography, traffic and weather forecasts and other data streams. Those learned models are used to generate real-time predictive insight services designed to drive engagement across OEM digital assets and enable recurring revenue relationships with consumers. WideSense positions automakers to monetize prediction services across current connected-car platforms and future mobility-as-a-service offerings, including robotaxi services. The company says the recent funding will be used to aggressively expand operations and to broaden and accelerate product development. WideSense is a spinoff from UC Berkeley and markets its platform to OEMs and location-commerce partners.
