Wiivv produces custom 3D-printed insoles sold through a mobile app that captures foot images. Customers take a few shots of their feet with the Wiivv app and the scans are sent to a factory in San Diego for production. The company has sold 10,000 insoles and its products aim to reduce fatigue, foot pain, and joint load. Wiivv offers five-day fulfillment for custom insoles and plans to begin shipping custom-printed shoes this year. The company recently acquired ESoles, gaining access to 50,000 3D foot scans to improve fit and accuracy. Founders Shamil Hargovan and Louis-Victor Jadavji lead the business, which completed a $4 million Series A. Wiivv’s first product, BASE, is a custom 3D‑printed insole created from five smartphone photos of a user’s feet. Users can customize colors and have their name engraved before the 3D model is printed. The company says its Adaptive Manufacturing System reduces the cost of custom orthotics, allowing BASE to retail at $75 versus the hundreds-of-dollars price of traditional prescribed orthotics. Wiivv launched BASE for preorder on Kickstarter and is debuting at TechCrunch’s CES Hardware Battlefield. The company closed a $3.5M seed round last month. Founders Shamil Hargovan and Louis‑Victor Jadavji came from the 3D printing industry, with Hargovan previously at HP’s 3D printing division. Wiivv plans to ship soles to its earliest backers as soon as February and will release a second product once the Kickstarter campaign reaches 5,000 backers.
