Wind.app is a Singapore-based self-custodial smart-contract wallet that enables businesses and consumers to use crypto as virtual bank accounts, send payments to remote workers, and convert between fiat and crypto. Its three core features are payments for remote employees, virtual bank accounts for users, and proprietary on-ramp/off-ramp infrastructure. The app removes gas-fee complexity, lets users sign up with email or phone instead of managing private keys, and stores funds in stablecoins to reduce volatility exposure. Wind.app is live in the Philippines, India and Bangladesh and is initially targeting freelancers, remote workers and other web3 startups as customers. Within a few months of launch it facilitated over $3 million in annualized gross transaction volume. It plans to expand to more countries and will use new funding for product development, procuring licenses and compliance for its on/offramps, and customer acquisition.
