Overview
WindMIL Therapeutics is a clinical-stage company developing Marrow-Infiltrating Lymphocytes (MILs™) as cancer immunotherapies. The company's founders, Ivan Borrello, M.D., and Kim Noonan, Ph.D., developed a rapid process to extract, activate and expand bone marrow–derived memory T cells to create MILs™. WindMIL's lead program is in a Phase 2 multi-center randomized investigator-sponsored trial in high-risk multiple myeloma, and the company plans to begin clinical trials in solid tumors. Preclinical data indicate MILs™ may serve as a superior cell source for next-generation CAR-T therapies, and WindMIL is exploring proprietary gene modifications to counteract immunosuppressive tumor microenvironments. WindMIL recently completed a $32.5 million Series B financing led by Qiming Venture Partners USA to support development of both unmodified and genetically modified MILs™. The financing also involved new investors Medivate Partners and Camden Partners Nexus, with participation from existing investors Domain Associates and FOXKISER.
