Wing Cloud
Ibn Gabirol Street 30, Tel Aviv, 6407810, Israel
Overview
Wing Cloud builds Winglang, an open-source unified programming language and abstraction layer intended to let developers write once and deploy across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and other platforms. The Winglang compiler produces ready-to-deploy packages that include infrastructure-as-code definitions for Terraform, CloudFormation and other provisioning engines, plus Node.js code for compute platforms such as AWS Lambda, Kubernetes and edge platforms. A commercial version of the product is in private beta and will offer companies a unified model to manage multicloud application operations after deployment. The company came out of stealth alongside a $20M seed financing (an initial $15M seed closed in Q3 last year plus a $5M extension in April) to fund product development and hiring. Founder and CEO Elad Ben-Israel previously worked at AWS on the Cloud Development Kit, which informed Wing's cross-cloud approach. Wing Cloud reports early community traction with a Slack channel of over 600 members, 1.3K stars on GitHub and 30–40 community contributors, and currently employs 16 people. The team says it will likely add engineers over the coming year and is trying to be intentional about recruiting to improve diversity.
