Wise.io, founded in 2012 and based in Berkeley, California, provides machine learning applications that span the entire customer lifecycle. Its solutions apply predictive analytics to help companies optimize how they acquire, monetize, and retain customers. The company was founded by Joshua Bloom (CTO) and is led by newly named CEO Jeff Erhardt. Wise.io's products are running in production at more than a dozen customers, ranging from Fortune 500 enterprises to startups. The company raised $2.5M in a Series A financing, reflecting early commercial traction. As part of the funding, Daniel Ahn of Voyager Capital joined Wise.io's board. Wise.io offers machine-learning-as-a-service that ingests data from Hadoop, MongoDB and file sources and creates multi-dimensional views to drive high-cognition analytics. The product includes a data scientist marketplace, automated reports and an enterprise offering that can be hosted on a virtual machine. The technology was developed by founder Joshua Bloom and his team based on techniques they built handling massive astrophysics datasets at UC Berkeley. Wise.io targets enterprise use cases such as industrial safety and streaming analytics where analyses that once took months or hundreds of man-hours can be completed in a fraction of the time. The company emphasizes scalability and speed, claiming dramatic time savings on large-scale analyses. Wise.io launched at the Alchemist Accelerator Demo Day and will join the Citrix Startup Accelerator program. The company expects $1.3 million in revenues by the end of the year.
