WISeKey India is a joint venture set up to localize and deploy WISeKey’s IoT and cybersecurity platform for Indian individuals and organizations. The company will provide trusted identities for IoT objects and mobiles using a localized Root of Trust (RoT) and a full RoT Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Planned deployments target telecom, manufacturing, retail, e-commerce and government e‑governance initiatives tied to India’s Digital India vision. WISeKey India will create a Cryptographic RoT for IoT manufacturers and chipmakers to embed digital certificates at the hardware level, and the first project under development focuses on semiconductor IoT chips and asymmetric keys to authenticate large numbers of products. The JV will also offer a private‑label mobile application and services including NFC payment functions, prepaid services, e‑coupons, targeted advertising and personal data management. Financially, the JV closed an oversubscribed seed financing round that raised $1.3 million.
