Wishberry operates a Kickstarter-style, rewards-based crowdfunding platform that helps artists raise funds for creative projects such as short films, documentaries and music videos, offering non-monetary rewards like premiere invitations and exclusive access. Founded in 2012 by ex‑McKinsey consultants Priyanka Agarwal and Anshulika Dubey, the company will continue to run its fan‑funding platform while expanding into film production. The firm plans to use fresh capital to launch Wishberry Films, billed as India’s first crowdfunded film studio for low-budget and content-driven cinema, which will produce, finance, market and distribute movies. Wishberry Films aims to connect high‑net‑worth individuals with low‑budget regional films in exchange for a share of film profits. The company has already raised more than Rs 5 crore for four feature films from HNIs and plans to roll out around 10 films this year under the crowd‑financing model. Wishberry also intends to use the funds to expand its team, hiring experienced talent in film production and distribution.
