WishPop
1 Sansome St Fl 40, San Francisco, CA, 94104, United States
Overview
WishPop is an iPad application that provides a kid-friendly catalog where children can browse toys and other items, create wish lists, and earn “wish points” via educational games. It offers separate parent and kid logins so parents can approve contacts, set point thresholds, track birthday reminders, and control purchases. The app includes customizable avatars, search, categories beyond toys (electronics, books, clothes, subscriptions, charitable donations), and a thank-you card creator that lets kids draw, add photos or video, and record voice greetings. Currently WishPop operates on an Amazon-affiliate one-click checkout integrated into the parents’ interface, and the company plans to begin hosting transactions inside the app later this year; it is also adding email support for cards. The team is eight people and includes former iOS game designers and children's media executives; founder Robert Ross is a former Apple engineer. The app is a free download on iTunes and the company is based in San Francisco.
