Womenalia is a Madrid, Spain-based social network for female professionals led by CEO María Gómez del Pozuelo. The platform provides products and content for professional women, including the WomenaliaCare Guide, WEmployment, the International Council of Experts, entrepreneurship resources, a Professional Career section, and news via Today in Womenalia. The social network currently has more than 200,000 users and aims to reach 500,000 by 2013. Womenalia raised €1m in funding from unnamed private investors. The company intends to use the funds to develop the platform and continue expansion in Latin America (including Colombia, Perú and México) and to open the US market. The raise is positioned to support product development and international growth.
