Overview

Woo operates a two-sided marketplace that matches tech talent with employers, targeting passive job seekers and hiring teams. The company has developed Helena, a 2-sided, AI-powered agent/headhunter that quietly sources opportunities for candidates and represents them to companies. Helena enables tech professionals to discreetly receive job opportunities that match their personal wish list and helps ensure prompt responses once candidates show interest. Woo uses its platform to spare both sides the hassle of finding each other and to streamline introductions. The company plans to use new funding to grow operations, accelerate development and expand in the U.S. market. To date, Woo has raised a total of $11.4M. Woo is a San Francisco- and Tel Aviv-based platform that lets software engineers, developers, product managers, QA, DevOps and designers assess market demand for their skillsets and opportunities. The invite-only service, launched in the San Francisco Bay Area in February 2016, gives members a reality check on relocation, promotion, salary increases and work on emerging technologies such as robotics, VR and AI. When an employer is interested and agrees to meet a worker’s expectations, Woo enables the employer to approach the individual while preserving the individual’s choice to remain anonymous. The company is led by co-founder and CEO Liran Kotzer. Woo has close to 7,000 tech professionals on the platform. The company recently raised additional funding and has a modest operating history and early user base as it scales. Woo provides a passive, anonymized job‑matching platform that lets candidates rank their priorities (location, compensation, challenges, etc.), import profiles from LinkedIn and GitHub, and remain anonymous while employers evaluate skills and demands. The company uses proprietary anonymizing technology to strip identifying information so employers judge only on skills, experience and candidate terms; candidates can reveal their identity only if they choose to pursue an opportunity. Woo positions itself as a gatekeeper, allowing companies to approach talent only when they can meet the candidate’s key terms. The startup launched publicly the week of the article and reported more than 4,500 invited candidates on the platform and over 100 companies onboard — including WeWork, Houzz, AOL and Yahoo — with roughly 200 more companies waiting to join. Founders Liran Kotzer (CEO) and Ami Dudu (CTO) previously worked together for 15 years and built the tech recruitment agency SeeV, which exited to Matrix. Financially, Woo announced a $2.35 million seed funding round alongside these operational roll‑out metrics.
