Woodway Assurance builds and sells EviData, an automated, AI-enabled platform that assesses privacy risk across structured and unstructured data, recommends and performs privacy-preserving transformations, and evaluates de-identified, anonymized and synthetic data. EviData produces objective evidence aligned with recognized guidance and international standards, including ISO de-identification standards, GDPR anonymization expectations and the HIPAA Expert Determination Method. The company launched EviData 3.0, has a growing client base and new strategic partnerships, and said recent financing will support further product development, commercial growth and international expansion. Woodway is a spin-off from the Electronic Health Information Laboratory at the CHEO Research Institute and builds on more than 20 years of research led by CEO Dr. Khaled El Emam. The company previously raised a CAD$1 million seed round in December 2025, and EHIL received the Privacy and Human Rights Award from the Global Privacy Assembly and Access Now in 2026.
