Overview
Work4 offers a social network–based recruitment product that helps companies advertise jobs and convert brand fans into candidates across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. The company initially prioritized a Facebook integration and expanded to features such as Twitter Job Cards and Graph Search mining for recruiters. Work4 serves thousands of businesses, including Gap, AIG, Intel, L’Oreal, Groupon and Hard Rock Café. It has shared about 12 million jobs to date, a 29-fold increase since June 2013, and reports roughly two‑thirds of its traffic comes from the U.S., with Facebook and Twitter as top sources. The company plans to use new funding to expand further into markets outside the U.S. and broaden its product scope. Work4 opened for business in 2010 and was founded in Silicon Valley. Work4 Labs builds recruitment tools and Facebook apps that let job seekers apply or be discovered using data pulled from their Facebook profiles. Its Work For Us careers-site app for Facebook Pages asks for permissions and scans viewers' profiles for education, work history and other data to surface best-match open jobs and suggest whom employees should refer. The company also provides an app that scans a company's Facebook friends to recommend referral candidates and has made its Work For Us tools free for small businesses. Clients range from thousands of small businesses to major brands including SAP, General Motors, Anheuser-Busch, and UPS. Since April 2011 it has grown from 10 to 70 employees and from 6,000 to 17,000 customers. With an $11 million Series A, Work4 Labs plans to invest in its matching algorithms, expand U.S. and European teams into Asia, and make senior hires in technology and marketing.
