Overview
Workast is a task-management toolkit built on top of Slack that enables teams to assign tasks and monitor their completion within conversations. The company reports roughly 100,000 monthly active users and says one out of every seven Slack paying companies use its product. Workast raised $1.85 million in a seed round led by Greycroft Partners to fund expansion beyond Slack to other messaging platforms. Planned integrations include Google Hangouts, Microsoft Teams, Stripe, and Cisco's chat products. Following a pilot program expected in early 2018, Workast plans to roll out a premium product featuring reports and analytics, unlimited integrations, guest accounts, templates, and custom fields. The company's founding idea originated in 2015 when founder Guillermo Gette built the initial Slack integration while at Expedia.
