Overview
WRLDS develops smart toys and a connected platform that bridge mobile gaming and outdoor play for tweens and teens. Its core product is an AR- and Bluetooth-enabled smart ball with a built-in chip that can control mobile games. The ball is about the size and weight of a tennis ball, made of a lightweight, bouncy material, and the first edition depicts a character called the "Water Soul." WRLDS plans to expand the lineup with additional characters and families (Fire, Earth, Wind and others) and add new characters as the platform evolves. The company was co-founded by Felix von Heland, inventor of the Storimi storytelling app, and Christian von Heland, who previously sold 20 million Moon Foam balls through Waboba. WRLDS completed a $600K seed funding round and announced the smart ball will be available for $39.99 on its website in September 2018.
