Wyvern
3772 Pleasantdale Rd, Suite 150, Atlanta, GA, 30340, United States
Overview
Wyvern leverages unfolding camera technology to make hyperspectral imagery from satellites a reality. Its sensors combine visible and non-visible wavelengths to form 3D data blocks that reveal insights such as vegetation stress, methane levels, pipeline leaks, and invasive species. The resulting information-rich blocks are intended to create value and efficiencies across agriculture, forestry, environmental and emissions monitoring, energy, and defense. With the latest USD $7M raise, Wyvern says its first three satellites are fully funded, providing certainty to customers interested in purchasing the limited remaining capacity. That USD $7M comes in addition to USD $8M secured in two prior investment rounds. The company is led by CEO Chris Robson. Wyvern develops hyperspectral imaging satellites that capture light across many wavelengths, including non-visible bands, to provide new insights for commercial customers. The company plans to launch its first satellites this year and deliver its first imagery products upon launch. Wyvern says super‑high‑resolution hyperspectral imagery is expected in a couple of years, which it views as potentially game changing. The startup sees agriculture as its first target market while also anticipating new businesses and industries to emerge from the data. Wyvern has grown to 18 employees and recently added aerospace veteran Christine Tovee to its executive team. Financially, the company has raised $4.5M across seed and pre-seed/government funding to support near‑term launches and product development.
