X5 Music is a Swedish digital record label operating largely in Europe that focuses on building and managing a catalogue of digital releases. The company distributes music digitally and reported over 10 albums on the American Billboard chart last year. It plans to use new funding to sign American artists, increase its catalogue and invest in music catalogues. As part of its U.S. expansion X5 will open a New York office at the beginning of 2011 and aims to be an alternative for major American artists. X5 is based in Stockholm and will deploy the financing to support its international growth.
