Overview

XACT Robotics develops the XACT Robotic System, a hands-free platform that combines image-based planning and navigation with instrument insertion and steering for percutaneous interventional procedures. The system has received U.S. market clearance and holds a CE Mark. The company is beginning commercialization and plans launches with select U.S. radiology Centers of Excellence, including a public debut at RSNA 2019. XACT completed a $36M financing and will use the proceeds to support commercialization and continued R&D to expand compatibility across imaging modalities and clinical applications. Founded in 2013, the company has offices in Hingham, Massachusetts and Caesarea, Israel. The technology is based on research from the Technion by Prof. Moshe Shoham; Harel Gadot founded the company and Chen Levin serves as CEO. Xact Robotics builds the XACT image-guided robotic navigation and steering system that accurately and systematically accesses targets anywhere in the body across imaging modalities. The system has CE Mark approval and provides real-time closed-loop control, active compensation for breathing and patient movement, and complex 3D angulation trajectories to minimize needle reinsertion and patient repositioning. Founded in 2013 and led by CEO Chen Levin, the technology originated in Prof. Moshe Shoham's lab at the Technion. The company intends to use the Series C proceeds to launch and operate seven Centers of Excellence in the US, Europe and Israel. It expects hundreds of clinical procedures to be conducted with the XACT system within the next 12 months. Xact also plans to expand the system's application to additional clinical centers, other imaging modalities such as Cone-Beam CT and Fluoroscopy, and additional indications including spinal and lung procedures.
