9330 Kirby Drive Suite 900, Houston, Texas, 77054, United States

Overview

XCath develops the Iris endovascular robotic system intended for neuro-endovascular interventions such as treatment of complex brain aneurysms and stroke. The company reports that Iris is the only endovascular robot in development to achieve intracranial navigation and to have performed an intracranial neurovascular procedure manipulating three devices, and it has operated using standard monoplane imaging equipment. XCath conducted first-in-human procedures in November 2025 at The Panama Clinic, with Dr. Vitor Mendes Pereira as operator and a local principal investigator. The system is still under development and is not yet cleared for commercial distribution. Founded in 2017, XCath operates campuses in Houston and Pangyo, South Korea. The company has raised $92 million to date and plans to use the latest financing to further development, advance commercialization efforts, and support planned clinical telerobotic mechanical thrombectomy work.
