XDOF
Berkeley, California, United States, North America
Overview
Founded by Philipp Wu (CEO), Fred Shentu (CTO), and Nemo Jin (COO) and launched in October 2024, XDOF provides an end-to-end data ecosystem for training robotics models. The company focuses on teleoperation data, teleoperated robot collection, and egocentric human-collected data and emphasizes tooling and data-cleaning to create a self-reinforcing feedback loop. XDOF has about 60 employees and serves roughly 20 customers, including several frontier AI labs that it did not name. It partnered with UC Berkeley’s AI Research lab to release the ABC dataset, which includes 130,000 manipulation trajectories, 300 hours of simulation, and 100 hours of evaluations. The startup plans to hire and train large numbers of teleoperators and egocentric operators, build wearable sensors, and operate warehouses and robot fleets to scale data production. Financially, XDOF raised $70 million from Thrive Capital, Spark Capital, a16z, Lux, and WndrCo to fund its operational build-out.
