Overview
Xeos makes the AURA 10 PET-CT, a compact scanner that lets surgical teams capture high-resolution, three-dimensional molecular images of excised tissue within minutes while the patient is still under anesthesia. This capability replaces the days- or weeks-long wait for pathology reports and helps surgeons immediately confirm whether malignant tissue has been fully removed. The platform is already installed in the United States and seven European countries and has been used in more than 500 patient procedures across indications such as prostate, breast, and thyroid cancer. Beyond imaging, Xeos is building an AI layer that automatically evaluates tumor images; peer-reviewed research has shown accuracy on par with expert assessment. With its new funding, the company intends to scale commercial operations in Europe and the U.S., establish reference centers, and deepen clinical and health-economic evidence to drive reimbursement. The growing data set from AURA 10 deployments will underpin future software tools that boost consistency and surgical confidence. Financially, the company just secured €14 million to fuel these efforts.
