Xiaoice was spun out of Microsoft in July and is pursuing independent commercial development. The company has formed a strategic partnership with Microsoft China to use Azure as its cloud operations platform for global and China markets. Xiaoice and Microsoft plan to jointly launch AI solutions targeting B2B verticals, initially focusing on finance, automotive, and content production. Prior to the spin-off, Xiaoice had already begun commercial trials on Azure and bundled its applications with the cloud for customers. The company completed a Pre-A financing round of several hundred million RMB from investors including Northern Light Venture Capital and NetEase.
