Overview

XJet develops and manufactures a 3D metal jetting system designed to produce metal and ceramic parts. The company is based in central Israel and was founded in 2005. XJet has raised $105 million to date. Shenzhen-listed electrical equipment firm Shenzhen Hifuture is set to invest $45 million in XJet, with an initial $25 million tranche followed by $20 million at a later date. As part of the investment, Shenzhen Hifuture will integrate XJet’s technology into its manufacturing line. XJet Ltd. is an Israeli stealth-mode solar energy start-up focused on developing next-generation deposition technologies for solar cell manufacturing. The company aims to redefine solar cell cost efficiency by providing dedicated, highly efficient tools tailored to solar fabs. XJet presents its technology as a means to accelerate industry capacity expansion and reduce costs to support a transition away from oil dependence. It is among the first companies to focus specifically on equipment for the solar fab rather than general-purpose tools. Financially, XJet announced a $9 million first financing round. The round includes investment from Gemini Israel Funds, Swiss fund Good Energies, Taiwanese equipment manufacturer Spirox and private investors.
