Xos Trucks develops medium‑duty electric commercial vehicles and an electric skateboard chassis called the X‑Platform for Class 6 trucks, with ranges up to 200 miles. The X‑Platform is designed to accommodate various bodies, wheelbases and range requirements; Metalsa helped design the chassis and supplies components. The company is scaling production to meet anticipated demand following California’s emissions rule that will push more zero‑emission truck sales by 2035. Recent funding will be used to expand operations and ramp up production of its chassis and vehicles. Xos has strengthened its leadership team, hiring Kingsley Afemikhe as CFO and Rob Ferber as CTO, and added Rodolfo Elias Dieck and Mark Lampert to its board. Existing commercial customers include UPS, which has used Xos vehicles on Los Angeles routes for eight months, and Loomis, which ordered another 20 trucks after a 2019 pilot.
