XP Investimentos is a Brazil-based independent brokerage firm offering individuals financial education and brokerage services. The XP Group includes an asset management company with more than US$350m under management and an insurance broker. The company provides educational content ranging from investment basics to advanced portfolio management strategies. Proceeds from the recent investment are intended to fund technology investments, network expansion, new product development and selective acquisitions. Actis's backing is intended to help position XP for an eventual IPO. The investment remains subject to approval by the Brazilian Central Bank.
