Xplenty

Tel Aviv, Israel

Overview

Xplenty is a Tel Aviv-based cloud data-integration platform that offers a graphical ETL interface aimed at non-technical analysts while preserving flexibility for data scientists. Its product includes over 100 data-source integrations covering relational databases, NoSQL tools like MongoDB and cloud services such as Salesforce, Zendesk, Google Analytics and Google AdWords. The company charges users based on the compute power they use rather than limiting integrations or data volume. Xplenty serves over 100 customers, up from 15 customers at the time of its first raise in 2014. It recently acquired Driven, a cloud-monitoring startup; both run on Hadoop, and the acquisition brings new performance-management functionality. New North American investors are expected to help build out sales and marketing infrastructure in that region. Xplenty provides a cloud-native, graphical data-processing platform designed to let non-Hadoop programmers build data flows, transform, normalize, and clean data for analytics without writing code. The product runs on AWS, Rackspace, IBM SoftLayer and can also be installed on-premises. The company positions itself as fully cloud-based in contrast to legacy on-premise competitors. Xplenty charges customers based on computing power used and currently serves 15 paying customers. Financing will be used to expand product features and invest in U.S. sales and marketing. The company emphasizes making Hadoop-based big data processing accessible to data professionals who are not Hadoop experts.
