Overview
Yana began as a chatbot-based project built by founder Andrea Campos to provide mental health tools for Spanish speakers and has since evolved into a broader app. The product centers on a chatbot that guides users through daily activities such as a gratitude journal, mood tracking and meditation, and the team plans to add a community feature. The company aims to shift from crisis-focused interventions for depression and anxiety toward ongoing wellness — a “vitamin for the soul.” Growth has been driven by app-store highlights (an Apple App Store feature in October 2020 and Google recognition in 2020) that produced rapid spikes in users. Yana is nearing 5 million users and ranks among the top three downloaded apps in Mexico and 12 other countries, including Spain, Chile, Ecuador and Venezuela. The team is small (nine people) and has previously operated in Mexico City and in a startup house in Cancun during the pandemic.
