Overview

YCD Multimedia is a NYC-based company offering a suite of tools for marketers to manage, distribute and target digital media in retail environments. Its core product set supports content management, targeted distribution and measurement for digital signage. The company completed a $6M funding round in October 2011 backed by Carmel Ventures, Opus Capital, Pitango Venture Capital, Plenus and other existing shareholders. Concurrently, YCD acquired C-nario, a provider of high-end digital signage solutions and applications, and combined the two businesses. The integration creates an end-to-end offering that spans content management through measurement and analytics. As a result of the combination, YCD will expand its reach to serve more than 2,000 brands, including Fortune 500 global brands, in over 40 countries; co-founder and CEO Noam Levavi will continue to lead the combined entity. YCD Multimedia provides in-store digital media software that integrates with existing retail and communications applications to deliver music playlists, visuals and other digital media to on-site digital signage. Its platform enables retailers, banks, hotels and other physical-location businesses to run digital promotion and advertising campaigns on screens and video walls. The company was founded in 1999 and maintains offices in the US, UK and Israel, supported by an international reseller network. YCD is led by CEO Barry Salzman, the former president of DoubleClick’s global media business. Recently the company completed a Series E financing totaling $12 million, which included conversion of a bridge loan facility alongside new equity investment. The funding is intended to support the company’s continued operations and deployments in physical locations.
