Overview

Yesway is a multi-branded convenience-store operator led by CEO Tom Trkla, operating primarily under the Yesway and Allsup’s brands. The company differentiates its sites through a leading foodservice offering (notably Allsup’s deep-fried burrito), a wide variety of grocery items, and private-label products. Yesway operates 428 stores across Texas, New Mexico, South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Wyoming, Oklahoma, and Nebraska, serving rural and suburban markets in the Midwest and Southwest. In 2022 the company completed construction of 17 new stores and 21 raze-and-rebuild projects. Given the success of those projects, Yesway plans to construct 28 additional new stores in 2023, the majority of which will be funded using proceeds from the new equity. Financially, the company raised $190M in new equity financing to support its growth plans. Yesway operates a portfolio of convenience stores, including the 304-store Allsup’s chain. The company raised an additional $235M in equity funding to support its operations and growth plans. It intends to use the capital to fund an extensive raze-and-rebuild and store remodel campaign across the portfolio and to pursue complementary acquisitions to expand the Yesway/Allsup’s brand presence. Brookwood Financial Partners served as the sole private placement agent for the offering. To date Brookwood has raised over $642M in equity capital for its Yesway affiliate and arranged over $237M in sale-leaseback proceeds. Led by Chairman and CEO Tom Trkla, Yesway currently operates 402 stores and plans to grow to over 500 convenience stores in selected U.S. regions over the next several years.
