Yikodeen builds certified industrial safety footwear and has expanded into serving a range of corporate and institutional clients. Founded and led by Yinka Atunde, the company started by refurbishing abandoned local factory machinery and iteratively improving product quality through extensive testing and certification. A key commercial breakthrough came in 2022 when Yikodeen won a major contract to supply 10,000 shoes to the police, and it now supplies over 50 organisations including Saipem, NLNG, Dangote Group, Seplat, BUA and the Nigerian Army. After securing $1.5 million in 2025, Yikodeen commissioned a manufacturing facility in Ejigbo, Lagos capable of producing more than 5,000 pairs in 24 hours and employing about 500 people, over 61% of whom are women. The founder has signaled plans to scale beyond footwear into a broader industrial safety ecosystem while continuing to pursue local production that meets international standards.
