The company provides on-demand insights across areas such as ridesharing, e-commerce marketplaces, and payments for investment funds and corporations. Its on-demand insights team uses proprietary technology to identify, license, clean and analyze data that many of the world’s largest investment funds and corporations depend on. Founded in 2013 and led by co‑founder and CEO Vinicius Vacanti, YipitData now works with more than 400 investment funds and corporations. In June 2021 the company raised up to $475M in a Series E led by Carlyle. YipitData said it will use the funding for product innovation and expansion into new markets. Yipit aggregates deals from hundreds of daily-deal services and packages that information for both consumers and institutional buyers. The company collects deals from 335 services across 32 cities and reaches 250,000 people each day. Yipit sells its data to hedge funds and daily-deal sites, and those data sales currently generate half of the company's revenue. The startup says it grew tenfold in the last year and plans international expansion. To support product and data efforts it intends to build a richer consumer interface and expand its analytics offerings. Yipit plans to grow headcount from 7 to 30, hiring engineers, developers and product managers.
