WholeWorldBand is an iOS app that enables fans to collaborate with professional musicians on unfinished tracks via recorded "seed sessions." Collaborations produce both audio mixes and video montages because recordings are videoed as well as audioed. Uploaders set an entry fee (€0.89–€5.99) for access to their seed sessions; WholeWorldBand takes a cut but does not take ownership rights from content uploaders. The platform aims to create new digital revenue streams for musicians and deepen fan engagement without devaluing finished tracks. Major recording artists currently signed up to upload content include Ronnie Wood, Stewart Copeland, David Gray, Dave Stewart, and Passenger.
