Yummi Media Group is a digital media company that creates premium interactive content and a mobile app (WeDong / cinime) for second-screen engagement in cinemas. Its proprietary PHONIX platform enables smartphones to interact with big-screen content without cellular or Wi‑Fi and is the focus of its global rollout. The company has signed strategic partnerships including an exclusive licensing deal with Wanda that adds 15% of the world’s cinema screens to its network, and agreements with NationalCineMedia, Wide Eye Media, Shaw theatres and WerbeWeischer. To date approximately US$40 million has been invested in Yummi, with much of that funding used to develop PHONIX. Yummi says it plans further expansion across Western Europe, India, South America and Japan, and sees additional opportunities in TV, sports, live events and telecom. The company was founded in 2010 and has offices in Singapore, Beijing, Los Angeles and London, and expects to pursue an initial public listing in the USA or Asia in 2016.
