Yupp.ai

100 View St Suite 112, Mountain View, CA, 94041, United States

Overview

Yupp.ai offered consumers the ability to test and compare outputs from a supply of about 800 AI models, returning multiple replies (including text and images) for each prompt and collecting user feedback on which models performed best. The company aggregated anonymized preference data it intended to sell to model makers, and it reported signing up 1.3 million users and collecting millions of preferences every month. Yupp maintained a leaderboard and said it had a few AI labs as customers. Despite initial traction and significant investor interest, the founders announced the company was shutting down less than a year after launching, blaming insufficient product‑market fit and rapid improvements in model capabilities. Yupp.ai raised a $33 million seed round in 2024 led by Chris Dixon of a16z crypto and received checks from more than 45 angels, including several prominent industry figures. Some employees are transitioning to another, unnamed well‑known AI company while others are looking for new roles.
