Overview
Zadar Labs develops high-resolution, low-cost solid-state imaging radar platforms for autonomous systems. Its radars are weather-invariant, power-efficient, deliver range returns out to hundreds of meters, perform Doppler measurements, and can be packaged behind fascias to avoid optical cleaning. The company released a mid-range sensor, zSIGNAL, with a 250m range that is currently under evaluation by several autonomous-vehicle customers. Zadar plans to launch a long-range sensor, zPRIME, in 2021 capable of 400m range with resolution comparable to LiDAR. Founded in 2019 and based in San Jose, Calif., the company was started by autonomous-vehicle veterans Mahmoud Saadat and Mo Emadi. Zadar raised external capital to advance its product roadmap and customer evaluations.
