Zapay offers a platform that lets drivers pay and parcel vehicle-related debts—such as fines, licensing and IPVA—allowing settlement in up to 12 credit-card installments. The company was founded in 2017 and already operates in 25 Brazilian states, with a plan to reach all federal units by the end of Q1 2022. To date Zapay says it has helped more than 3.5 million Brazilians and regularized nearly 500,000 vehicles with traffic authorities. It partners with major automotive and financial players including Sem Parar, ConectCar, Porto Seguro, Creditas, ItaúCard, iCarros and TicketLog. Zapay intends to use new capital to broaden its service portfolio beyond vehicle-debt installment, to improve product and the sales machine, and to hire talent as it moves toward becoming a broader ecosystem for drivers.
