ZAPITANO is a Social TV platform that combines television with internet interactivity on a second screen (laptop, smartphone or tablet). The service allows users to check in to individual TV shows, discuss with each other, post comments and vote for their favorite programs. The company intends to use the funding to establish the platform in the market. ZAPITANO has raised more than €1.7m in funding led by Media Ventures with participation from international private investors. Investitionsbank Berlin has supported the company under its ProFit program. The company was co-founded in 2011 by Gunnar Gläser, Jens Hegenberger, Dr. Marc Mogalle and Dr. Hans-Detlef Schulz.
