Zaraye

43/1-B, Block 6 PECHS, Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan

Overview

Zaraye operates a B2B platform that connects manufacturers directly with suppliers and offers working capital in addition to raw materials. The platform lets manufacturers post requirements and receive quotes from suppliers while suppliers can view consolidated demand across Zaraye’s buyer network. It currently serves the textile and construction industries, supplying materials such as cotton yarn, cement, sand, gravel and crushed stone. Zaraye works with more than 300 partners and suppliers across about 20 cities and focuses on smaller manufacturers with annualized revenue between $250,000 and $2 million. The founders—Taha Iqbal Teli, Hashair Junair Ahmedani and Ahshan Ali Khan—launched the company in late 2021; two founders previously worked at Careem and Swvl and one has family ties to conventional manufacturing. Zaraye aims to digitize procurement processes that have relied on calls and WhatsApp, addressing a sector where raw materials account for 60–65% of costs and Pakistan’s industrial manufacturing sector consumes $35 billion in raw materials annually.
