Zazu provides a Mercury-style digital banking experience tailored for Africa’s 50 million underserved SMEs. Founded by former Solarisbank executives Germain Bahri and Rinse Jacobs, the platform offers current accounts and integrated financial tools designed specifically for business owners. The company has already attracted more than 1,000 businesses to its waitlist and is running a private beta with over 50 SMEs. It has forged 20+ ecosystem partnerships and completed integrations with Paystack, Shopstar and Ozow in South Africa and Morocco. Management plans to roll out fully in those two markets first and extend across the continent by 2026. Looking ahead, Zazu intends to launch additional entrepreneur-focused financial products and raise a seed round in early 2026 to fund that expansion.
