Zeis Excelsa SpA is a shoe and apparel manufacturer and supplier founded in 1948 and led by CEO Maurizio Pizzuti. The company manufactures proprietary brands including Cult, Sonora, Docksteps and Lofu, and distributes brands such as Harley Davidson, Samsonite Footwear, Merrell, Patagonia, Dirk Bikkembergs and Sabelt. It operates facilities in Italy, Slovakia and Romania and currently employs 630 people. Zeis has an expected turnover of approximately €140m in 2011. The company intends to use the investment proceeds to grow organically, expand its Retail channel and extend the Dirk Bikkembergs brand into women’s and kids’ collections.
