Mynosys Cellular Devices develops and sells the Zepto Precision Cataract Surgery platform, a U.S. and internationally approved capsulotomy device. The company announced a $25 million financing to support U.S. market growth and to build a sustainable R&D, manufacturing, and commercial organization. Management plans to expand the U.S. sales and marketing team and pursue product enhancement and commercialization. The financing coincided with the appointment of veteran ophthalmic executive Rob Thornhill as CEO to run day-to-day operations. Decheng Capital’s involvement is expected to bring strategic support and board representation alongside company founder David Sretavan and investor Gil Kliman. The company positions Zepto as an affordable automated capsulotomy option for cataract surgeons and aims to increase global access through expanded sales and training.
